Please call to discuss your specific requirement or if you need free advice on your vehicle's problem we would be most pleased to discuss this with you.

We handle both older R12 refrigerant gas systems (pre-1992 approx) as well as all modern R134a refrigerant systems.

For the older R12 systems it is now impossible, due to environmental legislation, to offer this gas.

Our solution is to offer a ‘drop in' replacement to R12 which complies with modern legislation.

Free 15 minute check consists of:

Analysis of gas, operating pressure measurements, in-car temperature analysis, also checks are carried out on the compressor clutch & drive belt, condenser & fan, filter drier/accumulator, pipe work and hoses and pressure testing with oxygen free nitrogen when needed, and general overall performance. This check helps us to advise you on the best and most economical way to repair your air conditioning system.

No work will be carried out without the customer’s agreement.

Basic service: £70.50 inc vat (R134a new systems)

Checks are carried out on the compressor clutch & drive belt, condenser & fan, filter drier/accumulator, pipe work and hoses where possible. The gas is then analysed we then reclaim any gas and deep vacuum the system for 30 minuets to dry out any moisture, re-charge with correct weights of refrigerant add correct amount & grade of compressor oil and add a UV dye to detect any possible future leaks.

Basic service: £94.00 inc vat (R12 pre 1992 systems)

This service includes all of the items mentioned in the basic service for R134a

Premium service from £93.00 inc vat

As per basic service but also includes an anti-bacterial service and pollen filter change.

The price of pollen filters change with each make and model of car. If you would like to book this service you will need to have your cars registration number to hand.

Repair of aluminium and rubber pipes: from £47 inc vat

We can repair aluminium and rubber pipes when advisable to do so.

Leak sealant: £35.20 inc vat to £67.00 inc vat

Where a leak test shows up a very small leak it may be possible to fix this type of leak without replacing a part or making a repair to that part.

This sealant is specially formulated for Air Conditioning systems (both old and new) to seal existing leaks, and remains in the system to seal any future leaks.

Please note - the leak repair option will only work for very small leaks and should be approached with caution. Major leaks need to be dealt within the proper manner by replacing the faulty parts. We will advise as appropriate and customers should recognise that there is a degree of uncertainty attached to this treatment. Once attempted we regret that we can not refund the cost of this procedure if it fails to fix the problem.

Anti-Bacterial Service: £23.50 inc vat (as part of a service) or £47 inc vat (on its own)

We treat the evaporator with a specially formulated Air Conditioner anti-bacterial spray that kills all the bugs and leaves your air conditioning smelling sweet.

It is also advisable to change the pollen filter when an anti bacterial service is carried out.

The fundamental nature of the air conditioning operation means that fungus and bacteria can build up on the internal evaporator of the car (situated under the dashboard). This build up of bacteria can result in what is commonly known as "sick car syndrome". Not only is an offensive smell given off whenever the air conditioning is switched on, but occupants can feel sick or contract ear, nose and throat infections from your system.

Fact:  A car with air conditioning has up to 10,000,000 more micro-organisms in the heating system than a car with out air conditioning.  These micro-organisms, due to their size, can pass through filters with little difficulty.

Pollen Filters Price on Request

More than 80% of vehicles, whether fitted with air conditioning or not, are already equipped with pollen / cabin filters. Many drivers do not realise that these filters are fitted and should be changed at least every year or 12,000 miles.

There are two main classifications of filter:

Standard Filters:
These help stop dust, soot, pollen and particles from entering the vehicle.

Carbon Filters:
These work as the standard filter plus filtering potentially harmful gases and unpleasant odours from the air entering the vehicle.

Most filters are relatively easy to fit.  We can supply and fit to most vehicles but these parts need to be ordered prior to booking as each make and model of car has a different filter.

Leak Testing with Oxygen Free Nitrogen (OFN)

This test will be carried out if a leak is suspected and will be free with any re-gas service.

What we don’t do:

We don't do 'top ups' - whilst it is possible to get a system working by just adding more refrigerant, it is very bad practice. Without knowing what refrigerant and how much is in the system, it is impossible to correctly charge a vehicle. The result of 'topping up' is usually an expensive repair.

We don’t use compressed air to test for leaks as air adds moisture to the system and can leave residual oxygen which when, mixed with refrigerant and compressed can be explosive. Testing by vacuuming alone is misleading.
